[Vista] Readyboost and Vista 32 bit
I have a friend with a Vista 32 bit laptop that has been getting too slow and they really don't want to get a new computer right now. I'm wondering if Readyboost will help.
It is an HP DV6447OM with a Duo Core T2450, a 200GB 4200RPM HD, and 2GB RAM. The system specs say the max of RAM is 2GB. It also uses onboard graphics so that 2GB is stretched pretty thin.
Will any external HD work with Readyboost? Are only flash drives usable for Readyboost? How much "Readyboost RAM" can the system use? Will it make use of more than 1.5 GB of "Readyboost RAM"?
I've looked and a Readyboost service is running. I've disabled or changed to manual several services to help, but they need some more power for just normal surfing and maintenance activities.
Thanks for your help!
