 | Just like all car radios do not pick up the same number of stations due to antenna sensitivity or design specs modems also vary.
Even identical make/models of modems can vary based on the internal components as they age and such.
Some models are able to ignore specific interference while others do not. Unfortunately there is no way to determine in advance which models work the best at specific sites due to the variables involved.
That is why I usually try to keep a couple of different brands/models around for test purposes at sites having problems.
While new models tend to work better, as you have seen it is not always the case. That is one reason I usually wait a year or two for the bugs to be worked out AND the customer reviews of products to surface before I decide on what to purchase for my own use. |

 | reply to codyyy in general, no matter where you get them, the westell 7500s are shit. centurylink now has zyxel pk5001z modems that you may be able to get to replace your westell. -- One day, I'll blow up CenturyLink's DLSAM for my area. |
