Flash drive is 8GB (Patriot Extreme model) and is only a couple of years old. AFAIK the swap space is not on the flash drive and instead it uses one of the datastores. I don't think it really has anything to do with the ESXi OS since I can stand up an entirely new VM and it will run with no problems, it's only the original VMs that cause it to crash.
