 | Which laptop should I get??? I'm looking for a less than 14" laptop with 3rg gen intel cpu that has a NICE SCREEN (important). I want to be able to watch full HD movies on it and preferably able to edit photos (photoshop/lightroom)
or another question, can the nvidia hd4000 at least watch full hd movies without lag? (I've been looking everywhere for the answer!!!)
The laptop I have in mind right now is the Sony S 13.3" with GT640M LE. However, I heard that its screen is really bad.
My price range would be under $1400
Thanks! |

I am impressed with the value of MSI laptops and they seem to have more for your money. Under 1400 bucks you can step up to an I-7 and GTX675 GPU |

 | reply to eeeallan Thank you for the replies so far guys! I forgot to mention, I also want my laptop to be light, so... I'd say it has to be under 4bl because I will be bringing it to university everyday
And do you guys know if the HD 4000 is good enough to at least watch gull HD movies without lag? |

The HD 4000 is even enough to play most games at medium/low settings and 1366x768 resolution. (»www.anandtech.com/show/5771/the-···review/9) In that same review they mention that it can transcode from 1080p to an Ipad format in 15x real time, so just playing real time is no sweat at all. |

 | reply to eeeallan Asus has very nice 13.3in, I have the U36 which came with the dual core i5, 6Gb ram, and a 750Gb hard drive. The Nvidea Geforce 610M pushes 1080p via HDMI. The screen is 1366x768 but isn't bad. I paid about $600, swapped in 8GB of Ram, and replaced the HD with a 256SSD and it flies. Better specs and all in all still a lot cheaper than the 13.3 Macbook Pro. -- So in 2012 we have a choice. You may select someone who can't keep his promises or someone who will compromise his every position if it will get him elected. I'm voting for Snoopy! |
