2 edits | [OOL] ARRIS TM822G Octets Question Recently cablevision did some work on there equipment outside on poles because we had a powerful wind storm that caused a major outage however when our services returned I noticed that something looked a little different on the status page of the modem located at 192.168.100.1 and what looked different was the Octets.. I noticed that on DCID number 21 the Octets seem to be less then on the other DCID's. I wonder if this is normal I am not even really sure what an Octet is and I am not noticing any problems with the service but ever since the work this DCID is functioning differently. |

| I'm unable to open your TIFF file, but the actual values of the octets column is unimportant, as long as they're reasonably large numbers. i.e., if one channel is 625 and the others are in the millions, there's a problem with that channel.
Oh, and the values are a measure of the amount of data received by each channel. |

Hey, wanna take a look at mine? I have been concerned about the high number of corrects and uncorrectables, which has been like this for a couple of months. |

 | You are more than fine as you are like 1 in 300,000.
Mine at work is more like 1 in 69,000,000.
Think as long as there are no problems you shouldn't even worry about it, definitely not at 1 in 300K though. |
|
 | If you are concerned, you should clear the counters and make sure the ratio continues to be 1/10000. An old good/bad period since it was cleared can skew the current rates either for better or worse. |
