This Austrian malt liquor is *nothing* like the 40 ounce junk sold in wino bars here in the US. It's smooth, malty, sweet and warms the cockles of your heart on a chilly night.
A friend got it for me at John's Grocery in Iowa City. When we were there in July, I also picked up a nice sampler pack of Belgian ales and the last bottle of Linie Aquavit they had in the store (They can still special order it, though). Linie is my winter delight, served over ice with slices of spicy sausage and sharp cheddar on crackers. |
