| [MoP] Good Gear optimizer Finally popped 90 yesterday afternoon, enjoying being able to fly now. But I have come to an issue. I tried to check Askmrrobot for a bit of gear optimization, but it didn't seem correct. Suggested reforging every single item to hit, which i thought was odd. (everything, seriously? No gems, enchants, just hit?)
Anyone have any other good gear optimizers for a frost/arcane mage, or can at least recommend a good location to start?

Have you tried out reforginator? It worked great for me prior to luanch. I am assuming they have updated their addon since.

kudos:2 | I was mucking around with Fire a little while leveling and with 25% crit and ~14% hit I was noticing some crazy high burst...double, sometimes triple Pyroblast! procs were awesome.
I went in a dungeon as Fire though, and I felt like a monkey effing a football...I had to swap back to Arcane before Immer and the rest of my guildies voted to kick me!
I played as both specs whil eleveling and found that if played properly, Arcane has virtually the same potential as Fire (at least at my gear level), and it isn't as mindless and boring as it was before...As a matter of fact, I'd say it's actually more involving than Fire (at least at a novice skill level).
I also messed around with my reforging a little while leveling in both specs. Here is what I found, anecdotally speaking:
Arcane: Hit=15%>Haste>=Mastery>Crit
Fire: Hit=13-14%>Crit>=Haste>Mastery
Those stat orders seemed to show me the best results, personally. Now that I'm at cap and can start building a good set of raiding gear, I'll be able to put some math behind all this stuff.

lol, you obviously dont know the guild; he was refering to how horrible his dmg was at the time. We prefer a more "subtle" way of correcting bad performace. Something like
*Scaith is doing 21k dps on aoe pulls, yet requiring 28k hps to stay alive
Healer: Scaith, you are taking way too much dmg for where you stand on the dps meters, just saying buddy.
Scaith: *Rages about energy regen in combat spec...
Everyone laughs, Scaith continues to hate combat spec.

Orange, CA | We were ragging on my wife for her crappy damage in a 5 man. Sometimes she just spaces out and doesn't care, but since she was practicing for raiding on a new toon, she was getting frustrated.
Right before the last boss, she realized she had a fishing pole on.
This is commonly referred to as "helping" in our guild. The wording stemmed from an attempt where she died in the first minute (to not getting away with the disease correctly) on an LK 10 kill in Wrath, and proceeded to spend the entire fight on the ground, constantly intoning "I'm helping!" in Vent.

I use reforgelite for reforging. It has built-in profiles which you can use as a basis for reforging, though I highly suggest you scrutinize it's choices.
The nice thing is that it can get you very close to hit/expertise caps very quickly and without you having to manually figure out what stats to juggle to get there. And a one-click reforge-all option saves a ton of time. |

lol... in case anyone is wondering what I meant... I promised not to lie to my kids. The Santa thing is lie of Epic proportions... (at least in Religion, the followers truly believe) and I just couldn't reconcile that lie. So I declared Santa dead... nothing more than a cartoon character (tooth fairy, easter bunny, also dead). |
