Quebec Cable - Slow Speeds (vCable)

Hi guys,

Over the past couple of days, I have noticed that many of you using our Cable services in Quebec have been reporting slow speeds. After seeing these posts, I asked our Network Admin team for details and I have been informed that an upgrade for back-haul has been placed and we were anticipating it going live in October. This was ordered previously as a proactive measure. Since that order was placed, orders have been going through at an astonishing rate bringing our proactive measure to a needed level.

I can confirm that in the next few weeks, a back-haul link upgrade is scheduled to happen which should help alleviate some issues.

In addition to this, if you are in Bromont, QC, there is currently a master ticket open for Slow Speeds.

Thank you for being patient with us while we get this link installed.

Cheers,

Andre

I can't believe the last upgrade is already obsolete. Just when I updated my review too... I hope this won't be a recurring situation where every 2 months Teksavvy's speed drops for 2 months, rinse and repeat.

Hi,

Do we have an ETA as to when this will get resolved?

Yup, same story all over again. I hope it won't last 2 months again just to be fixed for another 2 months after that. It'll continue to get worse as they sign new customers until the upgrade.

Hi kilou,

I do not have a hard date however in the next 3 weeks, we "should" see something.

Thanks,

Andre

we need a boost in Montreal again....................

(or like do not bite off more than you can chew, no offense and I know no company will stop taking customers, its normal to expand, but it feels like the more ppl teksavvy takes, the more problems happen on long term, because quality of service tends to go down with the rising quantity of ppl, taking preventive measure before those things happen would be good)

most days my speed is ok but sometimes it goes down to 1mb...

The congestion started a little earlier tonight: 7:30pm Est.

I find this unacceptable. It's not like it's the first time this happens, in fact, it happened several times, the first time being a month after I signed up a year ago.

Now my wife can't even watch low quality streamed videos online without buffering every 5 seconds. Ridiculous.

Shouldn't you have a system in place to catch this BEFORE it happens?

That's the problem.
They wait until people complain before putting a "rush" notice on the upgrade order.

Heck, I bet their "previously" ordered proactive measure was more something along the lines of: "We'll announce to videotron our intent to place an upgrade order, but wait until people notice the link is overloaded".

We dropped the ball on this. Sales have been better then expected, I personally signed the docs to upgrade to a third gig link a couple months ago.. It's on the way, really sorry.

typical business method!

That's one of the reason I am not fond of TSI as much these days. Just another Bell I see in making excuses!!

They grew big but they were never prepared for it. After launching cable, for me they just went downhill in every department. They didn't had enough staff to start with and not enough gears to provide proper service. They just saw an opportunity to grow big and make $$$ and took the step. They just overlooked other aspects of it and now they say, we are trying our level best to correct things...why did you guys let it go this far in the first place??

Where is the business plan? Isn't it the first thing a business does?

Just to add, I'm not taking a personal hit on TSI Marc, just overall. Disappointed, I just avoided saying negative things but it's just that, I see tons of excuses now a days.

Having said that, I have been lucky and glad that TSI Martin, TSI Chad to name a few, always helped me with my issue.

To add to you're earlier comment, it wasn't "an opportunity to grow big". It just happened by doing the same thing we're doing now... Caring and trying to make a difference.. We even put stop sells for something like 6 months. I couldn't slow it down even if I wanted to.
