| TW has more features on their digital STB's such as Look Back and Start Over.
I had fewer issues with channels going out, pixelation, sound dropping on TW than I have had with WOW.
I had fewer issues with my internet speeds on TW than I have with WOW (but WOW_Dan here in this forum has been immensely helpful with getting these resolved!).
But in the months before we switched to WOW, we were having a lot of issues with painfully slow channel changing and guide navigation with the two TW boxes we had. Their Scientific Atlanta 8300(HDC?) DVR box was a POS. WOW's DVR was better (we got the new Cisco box), but we dropped that back in January and got a third HD STB for the third TV down in the basement (exchanging the HD DVR for two regular HD boxes added only about $1 to our bill).
My mom switched to WOW back in September of last year because our sweet deal we were getting from TW was about to expire and the bill was about to way up and my mom failed to convince TW to keep the bill down to close to what it was at the time we left. We were getting 2 HD boxes, more HD channels than we get with WOW, 10/1 Road Runner with a SA DPC2100 modem (leased from TW, same model I'm using now with WOW), all for $88 + change (was initially around $83 when we first got this deal in early 2009). Our bill with WOW is $100 + change for 15/2 internet, Digital Basic (fewer HD channels than we got with TW) and 3 HD boxes. The $100.change we pay to WOW is the highest we've ever paid for cable + internet.
TW's CS was pretty decent the few times we talked to them... no real complaints. I wonder if TW's CS has gone down any since last year?
If TW were to offer a deal for the same $ we pay to WOW for more HD channels and faster, more modern HD boxes, we'd most likely go back to TW. |
