Generally speaking, the larger the pulley wheel, the less the pulling resistance, and that will make it easier to pull.
The critical factor is the rope diameter and the distance between the wheel and frame. It is possible for the rope to get hung up if there is too much space.
So be careful on that... -- The most powerful weapon in the world is ignorance. Politicians exploit it to achieve almost anything they want.

 | reply to treichhart We just built our Gin Pole from stuff we got from the home depot. Mostly from the hardware section.
They have a great selection of every part you need to build almost anything you need as a wisp. |

1. You don't want the load to bang into the rope and pinch it between the hoisted tower section and the gin pole or fixed tower section.
2. The pulley swivels around the top of the gin pole. The pics don't show the gin pole attached as it would be used to raise tower sections. When raising sections, the top of the gin pole is a little higher than the the tie-off point of the section being raised. When the section is all the way up, you swivel around the pulley so that the section aligns with the last fixed section. -- Strange as it seems, no amount of learning can cure stupidity, and formal education positively fortifies it. -- Stephen Vizinczey |

|
 | reply to treichhart Ya I am going to come up with one soon as I get a welder. |
