got the same postcard. I'd been thinking about buying my own modem anyway. Guess this makes the decision easier. I do wish their list of approved devices amounted to more than one choice though.

TWC has charged a lease fee for modems in my area for as long as I can remember. When I first contracted for service, maybe 10 years ago, I bought a Motorola SB5120 modem and have been using it ever since. It works flawlessly, and I get speeds just as advertised on my network.

It's fine if they want to charge a rental fee as long as it's in the original customer agreement that you signed. But the problem is, it's not. It's a way they found to up the fees for existing customers. This is totally illegal.
