I had the problem, yesterday, and manual attempts failed. Just did a manual update which worked fine. |

I just downloaded and ran the manual update on Win7-64 SP1. It said that VPS was up to date.
VPS is 121003-1
Release Date 10/3/2012 6:06:29 AM
I have same VPS version on Vista 32 box.
Both boxes are attempting to update, but nothing happens. Last popup message was "The last attempt to update definitions was unsuccessful", etc, as nauseum.
Does anyone know what is REALLY going on?

I just rebooted my Win7-64 SP1 machine, and it updated to 121004-0. Timestamp is from this afternoon.
I guess all is well.

I just turned on my WIN7 system and got no update for Avast and when I went and downloaded the manual update it sent me the same file as yesterday and avast says my system is up to date. 
See attached screen print.
At this rate I'm going to start looking for another AntiVirus.
