[modem/router] WRT54GL, Westell 6100G. bridged mode not playing

Similar to this thread »[modem/router] Westell 6100 and WRT54G and Windows7

I set the 6100G to bridged mode, disable private LAN. I set my WRT54GL to PPPoE, I enter my Verizon DSL username@verizon.net , my password, and mirrored the MAC address of the modem to the linksys. No dice. It still tells me that it can't get an IP address.

What could I be doing wrong?

Re: [modem/router] WRT54GL, Westell 6100G. bridged mode not play

#1 Did you follow »Verizon Online DSL FAQ »How to Turn off the Walled Garden ?

#2 When you entered in your PPPoE user name into the Linksys was it

a) just user name

OR

b) user name at isp ?

#3 Before setting the Westell to bridge mode did you..

a) Go My Network -> Network Connections -> Broadband Connection (DSL).

b) In the area where it says PPP Connection Profile, for Action: You did press the button labeled disconnect

c) And after you pressed that button, the connection went down did you disconnect the phone line from the Westell

?
