Yes, this is a repeat from 1,10,100,1000,10,000 years ago. 
People pay money for Q-Ray Ionized Bracelets and "Exercise in a Bottle" too.
I've never talked to any of these clowns either. But curiosity never causes me to answer the phone for "Private" or "unknown to me", numbers. Those go to voice mail....always.

The astonishing thing about people's ignorance is that such ridiculous things need to be "debunked". They're obviously "bunk" in the first place to anyone with an IQ above room temperature. People are morons. And that's why scams like this one continue to work, and will always.

I haven't had the opportunity to have fun with anyone on this scam, but I did get to have some fun with some fake invoice scammers who were operating out of the Gatineau area a few years back. Before calling them, I was able to track down their names through their qst number. Then I found their prior fraud convictions - it seems that every three years they got busted. For some strange reason they got a little testy when reminded them their anniversary was coming up. That, and they really really didn't take too kindly to the fact I knew all their names. |

kudos:1 | I let the Canada Consumer Agency do my dirty work (or whatever department it was that I wound up talking to by the end of the phone number & transfer parade). . .least I could do . . . with it being their 3 year anniversary and all.
Pleasantly surprising fact. . . I didn't actually tell the folks investigating anything they didn't already know - they were already right on top of them. |
