Re: [HSI] Charter + Astraweb = ????

I didn't know Charter used SSL for usenet.

My Charter setup is unsecured and uses Port 587.

I'm not having any "slow" problems with usenet, but my usenet servers only have text newsgroups. Sorry I can't help.

My mistake, I thought maybe Charter had switched their usenet service provider, and I think you're talking about a subscription to AstraWeb.

Maybe AstraWeb is just having a system overload?

Port 587 for unsecured Usenet? Unsecured NNTP should be port 119. Port 587 is for SMTP with (usually) TLS. Unless Astraweb is specifying 587 instead of 119.
