Re: CallCentric tech issues today?

For my "free" NY number outgoing calls seem to work but incoming do not ring the phone (even though device is registered) and go to voicemail after some time.

PS Now outgoing doesn't work either.

Wish I would of checked here before I did a hard reset on my voip adapter! We missed an important call, after that nothing gets in or out. I assumed it was comcast again...But man, I am thinking about going back to landline.

I started reconfiguring my device and reworking my router, as I never had an issue with them in years. Then I thought, can this be an outage.

from one way audio > to no calls going through or out > to voices being severely delayed > to dead silence and then the phone rings.

Callcentric is more stable than a landline. IIRC it's more than two years since the last outage.

Yes here too (MTL-Canada). Phone is registering ok, outbound calls are ok (seem to be), but incoming calls don't get through. Incoming calls ring and get caller id, but does not connect / hangs up after couple of seconds.

Usually good service though.

Yep. CC has been so stable that I never even thought for a sec that they would be the issue.

incoming do not ring the phone

If you have a SIP URI with another provider you could forward »my.callcentric.com/pref_callforward.php Callcentric incoming calls to that SIP URI and you will not miss any incoming calls.

Out of 21 incoming Callcentric calls the last two hours none has failed for me.

I changed the DID forwarding to a SIP URI and made two test calls to two of my Callcentric numbers. Both calls went through without any issues.

I think the issue is only with registration of SIP devices, and only some devices are hit by this.

Yes. This works just fine.

Thanks.

It seems to be, but you need a isp that is stable without problems too, which mine has been acting up for quite a while. I don't know when landline ever went out!

My old one use to all the time, thanx to people who keep digging. So it's not fool proof.

As I'm sitting here I notice that my IP phone has un-registered and then re-registerd itself 3 times, so I think that something is afoot and they are working on it....

Here's what customer service says.......

Hello,

We apologize for any inconvenience that you are experiencing. We are aware of an issue affecting some customers which can cause intermittent problems with inbound/outbound calls and/or SIP Registrations to drop. Our top-tiered engineers have been deployed and are performing a thorough investigation with a goal of achieving a comprehensive resolution in as timely a fashion as possible.

Please keep in mind, only some customers are affected and this is an intermittent issue which should not result in a service outage or an extended disruption of service.

A review of our reports and monitoring systems shows that our Internet Connections, PSTN Connections, and Carrier Level connections are all currently up and running; additionally we do not see any hardware/software failures on our internal systems.

With that said, we are fully committed to resolving this matter as soon as possible and we will be proactive to reach out to you as soon an update/resolution has been achieved.

Again we apologize for the inconvenience, if you have any questions/concerns in the interim please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you.

So at least they know it's broken.

damn, I just switched from voicepulse last week (after experiencing similar issues) and I begged my boss to give voip another chance with callcentric.

My office staff started reporting issues will calls not completing and dropping at 4pm eastern time. Hope this gets resolved by the morning.

Going on 5 hours now...

Looks like some kind of registration problem. My log shows 21 registration packets sent, only 2 OK replies received.

Has anyone done a traceroute or ping test?

That's sort of the most valuable diagnostic tool for issues like this which seem to indicate that one of their upstream network links might be causing trouble.

This is the first significant CallCentric outage I can think of.....

I just know that I will have hell to pay with clients by morning if it's not better.

SmokePing for Callcentric
Traceroute and pings show no issue. Attached is a smokeping graph from my home PBX system. FWIW, my first registration time-out started at 16:20 ET (and still failing frequently). My system retries every 20 seconds and the highest failure count was 13 at 20:56:55.
