[Troubles] I'm about to lose it

I can't take it anymore.. Waiting till December when I'm pretty sure that when the date comes it will be pushed back again? It's been 3 GDMF years!!! The past couple days it's been unusable at night.. I pay money to play a game online and can't do it due to my ISP. New arena season starts in WoW and we can't do shit because of our ISP. The DSL has dropped completely out a few nights in a row now and pings are going from 20ms to 1000ms. And we only get a $10 credit a month when the internet is completely useless every single night. How long does it possibly take to get a new DSLAM out here and the shit working? What if the current unit that is out by the road suddenly explodes into a million pieces... then what? Would you HAVE to replace it immediately? Or would you sit on your asses and laugh at all the people suffering every single day while you collect your monthly fee? If there isn't a tech out there tomorrow working on this shit and getting it fixed, I'm calling a lawyer. I'm sick of being ripped off and then lied to for 3 GD years... It's time for someone to strike back, and Windstream has pissed me off for the last time.

I dont even have a date I never seem to get replays on this site anymore and the people we call dont' help much. 4 weeks of crap internet because they over sell or what ever is really starting to make me hate this stuff more. Can't be the line cause seeing how it's like clock work DING it's 8 PM your internet now sucks for 4 hours. I'm about to just start saying they are doing it to make it so you get less what you pay for oh your paying $40 for 10kb/s now, what you going to do about it get cable?

I know how you feel BB. I hate to admit it but the frustration I have felt in the past with WS has caused me to act like someone I'm not. One night on my way out to the main road which faces the DSLam with a hill pointing me down straight at the box. I had a fleeting thought of not pushing the brake pedal and just letting my truck do the rest lol. I stoped and had to take a few deep breaths while the urge passed. I kind of laughed to myself at this point and decided the DSLam hadn't done anything to me, after all it's just a inanimate object......
However I would love to meet the CEO and look him in the eye, because in reality he and the management are the ones at fault.

the reason i stopped messaging the CSR's is i dont want to take my anger out on them.. i know it's not their fault and i know they are saying and doing what they have been told to from higher up..

so far i've not heard back from one member of management or BOD i've wrote..if windstream does not change and put customers back in priority, they will not be around much longer..

This is really UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

There has to be someone with high authority in these rural area's who has to use Windstream themselves....I mean, that would be there ONLY OPTION for an ISP as well. Rich, powerful people do live in rural areas as well. I wonder what the hell they do in a case like this.....Especially since most rich people demand the best of everything. I guess they have a dedicated line.

That depends, if your phone service is actually served from that remotely deployed DSLAM (via a combo line card), then yes, they would need to fix it relatively quick.

If you are in Saint Matthews, SC, your central office (STMTSCXA) is on 103 E Bridge St., maybe you can get some better answers from them directly.

file all complaints with BBB and your Attorney General..

also contact state Representatives and local media.. we have to start at the bottom with media coverage, but with enough exposure this will finally get the attention it deserves..

Lovely latency outages due to yet another oversubscribed DSLAM. They ran additional T1 lines in my area and it only netted a few weeks of normal service. I'm back to experiencing your exact issues, horrible latency during peak times. It's tough to browse much less stream video or game online.

The phone reps have been great and brutally honest lately in that they have no idea when Windstream will correct their alarming number of oversubscribed areas. They simply don't care at this point or at least have not proven to.

It's as if they are almost just buying their time till they leave town and leave this mess for someone else to clean up. Not sure how they are getting away with it legally in regards to advertising false speeds and not coming close to delivering them.

To be honest I do play wow too there is no reason get upset about it. I haven't play wow 3 month, I have girlfriend which I care about then wow just sayin. If you want it be fix it be best talk to windstream about your issue as clam manner way instead blow up about it. Trust me I am calm person find out what going on, Sometime tech over the phone maybe not much know for sure they can't see it but that why they have windstream direct fourm is for. You want show them what issue you have, and they will be happy to help you but it won't be fix asap just saying give some time.

Wow, you don't have a clue on what's really going on here do you my friend? You must be a new customer with functional internet by some miracle.

Many of us have been experiencing ongoing issues for at least several months if not years. We've been lied to about repair times and what the actual cause is more times than one would care to count. There is a reason Windstream is quickly doing downhill and their CEO is ranked one of the 10 worst in the country.

The issues experienced for the most part are from the company's neglect to upgrade old-school hardware combined with their greed in oversubscribing DSLAM's. It will catch up to them sooner or later with all the bad publicity and reports filed against them. You can only screw the consumer over for so long before your reputation is shot and unrecoverable .

KSD2004 I do understand what you are saying.. somewhat. =p And believe me when I say I try my best not to get pissed off about it. But you have to understand where a lot of us in the forum stand with Windstream. Like ComputerDoc has stated, most of us have had issues lasting longer than a few months. Back when they were Alltel in my area the local techs could usually do some good in getting their equipment upgraded and problems resolved in a more reasonable amount of time. Ever since Windstream evolved from Alltel's spin off of land line services, local techs have retired and CS and total quality of the company has fell through the bottom. I've been told by a few local techs that Windstream, for the longest time, wasn't spending the money needed to replace the equipment. When they were Alltel this was a different story. Local techs, as well as most of the Windstream engineers, know exactly how to fix the problems but the company will not buy the equipment. Now after many years of no upgrades to equipment they finally are starting to run fiber to their remotes. This is all great for us but still a total pain in the ass when the fiber is sitting dormant at the DSLAMs. Windstream made a deal with the Government in which the only way for them to get stimulus money was to run fiber to most of their footprint on their dime. Now that the fiber has been laid, Windstream waits around on that check from the Gov to order the new equipment to hook the fiber up. I'm assuming this check is finally coming through due to the announcement of VDSL/Gbond. Soon they will have the equipment and I'm sure most places that are fiber fed now will get this new equipment. This is great news for the people currently suffering through this nonsense.. 3+ years for us. And don't think that the upgrades to the area are going to happen overnight. Once the equipment is brought down to the location, there is installing it, testing it, moving people to it, etc. This could take another couple months by itself. This is why I'm not holding my breath for our Dec. 31st ETR date.

Obviously you are as new to this forum as you are the English language. You also must not be very familiar with Windstream's standard business practice of screwing their customers. Wait 2 more years with no fix or ETA of a fix to your existing problem, then you can preach to people about how calm they should be.

Yes - at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel. (sorry for the cliche)

Even though I personally have rarely had a problem with Windstream, I can only imagine the frustration of you folks in these areas having to deal with this not for a day, not for a month, but for over a year! I mean, that's ridiculous!

I still wonder to myself what the filthy rich people are doing in these areas with only Windstream as the provider. I'm sure they too have been dealing with this. I say this because people with lots of money and power ( usually) ,if they are personally affected can pull strings.

Last time I called in around the beginning of November I was told that my ETR was moved up to Nov. 22nd. I haven't seen any work what so ever at my location. I seriously doubt that it will be repaired in less than 2 weeks. What is the update as of today?

All day long. About 20 minutes ago you couldn't go to anything and multiple hops on the tracert were dropping out. Just called tech support and the retard tells me that "Oh yeah when you cannot connect to the internet it is because your username and password wasn't right.. Now it looks like it is connecting". I told the idiot that had nothing to do with it and had nothing to do with what I just explained to her. She said she would look into it and click.. hung up. I hope the entire Windstream company and all of Windstream's equipment burns to the ground one day. This entire company is terrible along with all this false hope bullcrap I keep getting fed about stuff soon to be fixed. You people are a total waste of an ISP and need to be put down.

Well time to log back on to WoW and run back to my body. Thanks Shitstream... another repair bill.
