Re: I'm about to lose it

Actually I replied to your PM. I need the phone number associated to your DSL line or your Windstream email address so that I can pull up your account. Please send that info to me via the PM's.

Thanks,
Aaron

I have not received anything to the contrary. Victor, the gentleman we were speaking to, is out with a pretty serious cold. But I see the order still on your account.

As yours was "fixed", my down time has shot up bad from 5-11pm and weekends are out. No more gaming online for me. Glad they finally got to your area. Now if they could just do the other end of our town.

Prodious, send Windstream your info through a PM on here or through the Windstream Direct forum and see if they are working on anything on the other end of town. I thought they would be getting Cameron up and going before heading back towards Columbia but I may be wrong. I haven't been out your way in awhile so I'm not sure if they've been running any new equipment and/or fiber. I'm not familiar with how many units are in your area bro but maybe they can do some rerouting to get you back working. I know there are more people out towards you than there is at my house... maybe not everyone is feeding from one DSLAM.

Aaron, I hope Victor gets better soon! I told the wife to call me whenever the tech shows and I'll get some guidance to him if she isn't sure. But for our small house everything is pretty much straight forward.

Hey Bodybagger, when you get a sec please post a link to this thread and a short description of the issues you have personally experienced with Windstream in my recent thread - "Windstream DSL Investigation: South Carolina."

Each case and testimony will help out greatly in getting this covered by a local media outlet at which I"m trying to put together as we speak. I really appreciate!

I have just noticed that my Attainable Rate Rate (Kbps): in the statistics of my modem has gone up so something was changed. Cant believe that yours is only 5488 down and 816 up. Going from the word i guess it is what is suppose to be available to get on the line, and a funny about that because i was told that when i upgraded from the lowest dsl speed, and i quote "you can upgrade from 1.5mbps to 12mbps for just $10 more with your plan." I was so excited that was available when i was getting it 2 years ago, but that was my first time talking to someone from wind stream on the phone. Now i know better.

With those stats Prodious you should be atleast 6Mb without an issue... other than the over sold DSLAM you are currently on.

Doc I'll post it on there now. I've tried to get WIS and WLTX notified of this service back when it was totally unusable for ~3 years. Nothing ever became of it and never had any emails back from them. I hope you will have better luck!

Really strange... but when copying a file over the network on a Sagem 1704 it totally cripples the DSL. I mean 1000ms ping while copying and as soon as the file copied to another PC on my network my DSL went back to perfect. Wtf? Is it just something with these 1704's that do that?

I just wanted to throw my 2cents in there also Since September of 2012 the whole area around me has been having problems with the VERY SLOW INTERNET. I live in Hilliard in the Kingsferry Area and we all are sick of this now if there was another service provider out here we would have switched a long time ago. This is out of the norm for me but I don't know what else to do. Also it looks like windstream isn't going to fix the problem on their own we have different dates until the last time we called they told us to go with another provider. ????? Really. Who. Smoke signals. Anybody know how we can do that?? Netflix was like the best thing around before windstream decided to overload their junction boxes or servers or whatever you want to call them. Netflix would stream with no glitches it would take like a matter of like 3secs and the movie was playing and no load times. Now. We're lucky we can watch a movie for 3secs. With this big of a problem you would think you would see some work trucks doing something running new lines or installing new hardware in the boxes I haven't even seen a sign of them doing something. But you can bet your ass that bill gets here with HIGH DSL SPEEDS. Up until now I really liked windstream but I would have never believed that they would do there customers this way. The whole reason I came onto this forum page was because I just tried to watch a short 4min video on my phone and it turned into a 30min long session of how many times the circle can go around HOW EXCITING THAT VIDEO WAS I RECOMMEND IT FOR EVERYONE ON WINDSTREAM. OHHH NM. YOU ALL HAVE PROBABLY ALREADY SEEN. come windstream you know your utilities are not made to last forever you are going to have to get off the hip and fork out some money so your money will be coming back in. I work for a utilities company and it is a never ending process of getting rid of the old putting in the new. I KNOW YOU DO TO. WHY SHIRK THE WORK??? Srry for the length but it made me feel a little better;). And I didnt proofread they aren't doing there job so I didnt think I should waste my time and proofread.

This Sagemcom 1704 is a total POS. I'm about to hook my old Gigaset back up and use my own router.

I keep getting IP addy conflicts when DHCP is enabled... This happens randomly and not during a reboot. Also the wireless signal will drop and not let anything connect back until the modem is rebooted. I'm also still seeing a bunch of errors and not sure if this is causing the modem to spaz out.

I do not see any significant errors on you line, at least nothing currently that appears to be service affecting. All considering the errors showing in your stats are not a huge amount . . .How often are you resetting your modem? Any difference in performance between hard-wired and wireless performance? Is service impacted or do more errors accumulate when someone in your home is using the landline? Sorry about the 20 questions.

Hey Aaron. We will be moving very soon to my grandfather's old house that is 1.5 miles away. We will be 7.5k feet from the DSLAM and should be able to get better service. I'll get with Windstream when that time comes. As for now, there isn't much difference on the wireless compared to being wired. The only thing we were having issues with was rebooting the modem about every other day. I didn't check it over that 3 day, almost 4 day interval. It's just strange how it will originally sync at 3.5 then drop to 2 or 2.5 with the modem not ever going down.

Telling you man.. there is a ghost in this house effin around with stuff.

I really am starting to agree with you, there is some sort of gremlin messing around with stuff. I was having your account monitored last night (around 10pm) and a pile of errors came upstream and hit the error counters in the DSLAM. I have checked everything, and honestly I can not find a reason for it either virtually, or on the outside plant. I am at a loss. When you get a moment send me the phone number of your grandfathers house and I will see what you qualify for, make sure there are no issues in the area, and see what kind of moving special I can get Vic to set up for you.

Little bit of Windstream crap before we can move. Been like this for a few weeks now. Haven't heard anything from Windstream on the forums about it and now the wife is calling the loser tier1 support. Guess this is what we are being dealt before we can move in a few months... hopefully sooner. Sadly it will still be Windstream.

I thought you were one of the few they actually fixed in SC. How long did things actually run correctly? This forum has unfortunately has been of zero help to me since this summer. Everyone just stopped helping. As if my ticket and issues have been noted to be ignored, lol. Have you noticed the same?

Hope you get some relief soon. From your post I take it you are moving but will unfortunately still have Windstream as your ISP? God help...

Oversold/latency outage DSLAM problems here since November 2011... Fix dates kept getting pushed back into late 2012 then finally they said not scheduled currently to repair this area. So here we are with no hope for the future.

We lasted a good 4 months, maybe a little longer. Seems like most of the repeating users in this forum that have had these issues with no signs of repair are the ones being put on the back burner. I'm sure the t2 guys know just as well as you guys that the repair dates they come up with are nonexistant, or like kpatt says, not scheduled for repairs at all. It's a damn shame after all this time and money Windstream still cannot fully fix their network. I've never seen a network have so many problems in all of my years in IT. I honestly think 3rd graders could run a better network. Well... Windstream knows they suck so no need for me to continue bashing... in this reply atleast. =p

We will be moving hopefully this month. The house isn't but 2 miles away from our old location so we will still be on the same equipment as before.. just a little closer. And not down a GD dirtroad. lol...

Aaron or Pat, if you guys still check my crazy post, the new house will need a new NID I'm sure. It looks like the box up now is the original when the house was constructed... maybe 50 years ago. I'll be running new phone cable and installing jacks in the house. (Maybe 2 or 3) I'll run them all to the current NID location.
