I have been told now that "all funds for projects/repairs have been used till 2013". So exactly where did all the money go again? The government funding?
The fact that Windstream has oversold DSLAM bandwidth practically everywhere only means they have more business than ever. MAKES NO SENSE! GREEDY DISHONEST COMPANY! |

This problem is literally country wide, and that's why I can't understand why they are still in business. How can you possibly give your customers in California a reason for poor service, and turn right around and tell the same thing to your Ohio customers? Its obviously this has been going on for years, and now its way too big for Windstream to handle. They will simply run the train until the wheels fall off, and then disappear... |

| Well I did call them 2 days ago to report that our net was dropping completely out. It happened the other night 5 times in ~10 minutes. Now it happening all through out the day. I was told from the guy I spoke too that it isn't Windstream's fault that the equipment is garbage. He was trying to insist that the companies Windstream bought up were in long need of this "network overhaul". The reason Windstream bought these companies up was because they were going to go out of business if they tried to update their existing equipment and/or install new equipment. So now Windstream is stuck with the burden of doing all of this upgrading and having to foot the bill.
Bunch of effin retards if you ask me. Our local Alltel was bought up atleast 7 years before the issues started. Not a damn thing has been done in this time frame to have the equipment updated and/or replaced. But now that all these problems are starting up everywhere, it is suddenly the old carriers' fault for not updating their equipment before Windstream bought them out.
I'm assuming they are getting tired of pointing the finger at the customer and their PC/Modem/Router and now have to point the finger at a carrier that no longer exist. What a total piece of garbage Windstream is! Take credit for your screw up and take credit for when you get it fixed. IF it ever gets fixed. You can't have your cake and eat it too you assholes...
Oh and computerdoc, we've been given repair dates for over 3 years that keep getting pushed due to funding. I don't believe a word I hear from Windstream when it comes to an ETR. Maybe the money has already been spent on the equipment but are waiting for install? Maybe the money was already spent lining the CEO's pockets? Maybe the money was "spent" and no new equipment or upgrades because somehow these idiots are funneling money from the company and they don't notice it... I wouldn't trust them with government money. They can't even get their shit together communicating throughout the company... let alone it is a communication company! Useless... |

I've even found recent articles of him speaking at the NASDAQ conference and shit stating that "big changes" are happening soon. Like many others, I made this a personal vendetta of mine, and refuse to let it go. I've love to find out where this Mr. Gardner lives... |

Wow that's embarrassing, 3 years of empty promises and deception. Well all I'm getting is 2013 for my ETR so they aren't even confident enough in themselves to give me a real date as of yet. That's funny the tech is blaming the equipment...well duh!
Yes tech support, your company has somehow squandered all possible "repair or update" funds for this year leaving a large majority of paying customers in the cold with no idea when service will be restored. But the CEO still manages to live large and somehow brag about his company and their progress?!
Either fix the hardware, improve the almost non-existent customer support or pass the business over to a corporation with actual morals and good business standards. If there was but one other ISP option in town in a lot of areas including mine, Windstream would be extinct. |

| Well check this out.. found out the REAL details from a local tech that visited yesterday due to our net dropping out completely 10+ times a day for the last week. Dec. 31st is a total lie. They won't start moving people on the new fiber fed shit until Jan. Then, depending on our location, it all boils down to who gets pushed over first. Well we live in the middle of nowhere and there are no businesses in our location so we are probably at the bottom of the list. The tech said that more than likely because we are out so far, we will be one of the last ones to get pushed over.. and it could take until the beginning of summer. WTF?! He also said there was a span that was completely down that feeds our DSLAM back to the CO. Windstream isn't going to fix this span because they already ran the fiber and spent the money for that.
I wish I had this time this morning to write out the entire convo we had with a t1 supervisor on Saturday.. Nothing like being told that Windstream isn't going to fix the problem and the manager refused to send someone out, contact t2, or even transfer us to someone else because he didn't want to waste anyone else's time with our issues that Windstream is not going to fix.
Well we've been given a Dec. 31st repair date that has been told to us and written to us mulitple times. I highly doubt our issues will be resolved by then but I got good enough evidence built up that would support a law suit against these idiots. I just hope I can find a lawyer that would love to shut these mofos down as much as I do. Windstream better pray the shit in my area is fixed by then. |

You have to really reach one of these field guys to get the real information. I'm in the country as well in SC and I'm sure I'll be pushed to the back of the line too.
I've now been told Feb 2013 for my ETR...which of course means nothing. Keep us updated on your possible law suite against them. I'll be happy to provide my exact same experience with this horrid company and how they are blatantly lying to their customers regarding repair dates and promoting false speeds on their advertisements while still taking in new customers on oversold DSLAM's. This issue needs media attention, someone is bound to make it happen sooner than later. |

Again let me know if I can help in providing details on my experience as well with Windstream in SC if you put a case together. This forum alone should provide a wealth of evidence that the DSLAM's have been oversold for some time now and little has been done anywhere to resolve it other then giving out empty promises and false ETR's. |

| They've actually stuck by this one for the past 3 months. As in, it hasn't changed from calling t1 or t2. The local techs on the other hand have given ~June 2013 dates. I cannot begin to list the dates for repairs that we've been given for the past 3 years dealing with this garbage. It's really sad that damn 4g LTE service gives a steady 35/15 while being hardwired on DSL we usually don't even see 2/0.6! If the data cap BS wasn't totally useless we would've switched to Verizon 4g (Home Fusion) long ago.
Anyway, we were told from a local tech that the contractor still has the fiber they just finished up with.. it won't be released until the 1st of the year. I love how t1 and t2 can tell me our ETR is Dec 31st when the contractors aren't releasing the lines until the 1st. Windstream loves to make up ETR dates just to shut the customer up. Then when the date arrives and the DSL is still shittastic, they give you another one so you will shut up again. It's not the t2 or t1 CS reps' fault. It's all corperate. All they do is look over a list of notes and have no earthly idea wtf is going on in anybody's area. |
|
 | speaking to a field tech in my area i was told that they had till 2014 to have repairs completed that was the deal when they took the money and it would probably take that long for us even though i have been given 2 different dates as well |

Lol.. cmon man.. Well atleast the ETR dates are moving just a few weeks instead of 6+ months. =\
The way the tech described it was that the most utilized areas that had the worst problems were going to be completed first. I know that Cameron, SC is a much larger area (and where the money of this county lives) than our small area outside of Saint Matthews. I would've assumed that Cameron would've been the number 1 place to get up and running before anyone else around here. (I'm keeping a track on Cameron as well for people that do not post on forums)
When you guys say the engineer, are you referring to the local field engineer in charge of the project? I'm just hoping the information you guys are redirecting is coming from a legit source. |

Piggie, they usually like to keep the news relating to certain people/areas relevant to the person/area that have the issue. Basically my ETR date was moved again. But only a few weeks compared to the normal 3-6 months away.
BTW there are only 2 techs that work the forum. Aaron just fills in when he has the time anymore and we thank him for that. And of course, my issues are irrelevant to anyone else outside of Saint Matthews, SC. They may be the same exact issues, over sold equipment and not enough backhaul, but each area is different.
I'm not sticking up for Windstream in any way, shape or form... but I will stick up for these techs in here. Just look at how much they have on their plates just in the forum alone. |
