[Troubles] Re: I'm about to lose it

Net has been working so far. Haven't had any issues now in about a week. Hope I don't curse it by typing this update.

Good to hear. Hope it holds!

My ETR has been pushed back a month but been approved for the funds needed, so it's going in the right direction and should be ready to go late March according to the engineers on the job.

It sucks they keep pushing you back man.. It seems that's still the normal business operations of Windstream though. I hope when they finally get you going you don't have the issues we had when we started up. I'm having a big LAN party this weekend and hopefully I can get most of our patches and drivers and whatnot downloaded while the net is working. Who knows anymore when the net will go down.. It's not a matter of IF but WHEN. Atleast we aren't being routed to Kansas anymore for the time being.

Bagger- I was reading through this thread. If you have connection issues in the future reach out to Larissa or myself so we can test the line. We both are familiar with your home network and have access to a couple of tools that are not floating around just yet. Might save you some time troubleshooting. Otherwise glad to hear your getting better speeds.

10-4. I tried getting in touch with you guys before when it was being quirky but couldn't get through due to t1 cs being complete morons. lol... Bout the only other way is through DSLR and that's no good when the net completely drops. I'll keep an eye on stuff and keep everyone updated, as always!

Definitely keep us updated! I'm hopeful we'll both finally be in the clear here shortly. Its been a long bumpy road, I just hope the hoop jumping is nearly over. Aaron has been a big help to me so be sure and hit him up if you have any more issues. He goes the extra mile in getting in touch with who's doing the actual work and stays on top of them to finish up.

So far things have been up and running. Over the weekend we were having a LAN party at my brother's house. I noticed that 90% of the time his SNR was 8 and lower. I'm not sure what that was all about other than poor quality lines feeding his home. I cannot check mine due to the modem being in bridge but we haven't noticed any issues here lately. Are they ever going to reroute the traffic to the closer, fiber-fed peds? I would assume after everything checks out that this remote is fully operational they would try to bump speeds up by rerouting more distant locations.

Aaron,

I live in northeast Ohio in Huntsburg. I have had Windstream out several times and they have checked outside and in, changed some wiring, gave me a new modem, etc. etc.
My speeds off peak are approx..1.50mbps but during the evening are .50 and below! Keep hearing that they "oversold" the hub out here and it might be fixed sometime this summer. We pay for 3.0mbps but our service is so slow we can't use our Netflix and Amazon streaming services.

Any ideas? Thanks

Ideas? Find another ISP. If you can't do that then go to the direct support section of this website and start a thread for Larrisa. make sure to provide as much info as possible.

Hi,

Only other service out here is Hughes Net. Don't feel like paying through the nose when we go over our "allotted" amount........

They sold me 3.0 mbps and deliver .20 sometimes.......

Well we've been "fixed" out here and our service is still lacking. Had to download another small patch for SC2 just now and was downloading ~200k/sec. Still only getting 2Mb when it should be 3. Atleast this is a bump from 0.08 on the downstream.

But no Aaron, Larissa... it's still not "fixed" guys.

Sounds just like the response I got from a WS executive. Sure. Go to the direct support section which is closed off so no one can read any updates to this thread. LOL

Read the thread. Bagger has been in contact with plenty of WS folks.

Keep it up Bagger! And don't take this advice which only protects WS. Keep doing it your way. Had this been fixed a long time ago none of us would be responding here.

It's all well and good to say find another ISP, but many of us are here because there is no other ISP to be had.

Many of us also have Windstream direct threads. All the info in the world isn't going fix the problems with outdated equipment and windstream overselling and continuing to sell when they can't provide service for existing customers. My known issue has been going on more than 7 months. A windstream direct thread isn't going to fix that. They don't care (They as in windstream the corporate entity and not the CS reps)

Bagger- shoot me your number (I am sure I have it somewhere) and I will see if I can find something. Keep in mind I only work the Public Forum so it will have to be via PM. Pat also bounces in and out of the Public forums, she may also be able to look into the issue if you would like. Keep in mind sometimes messages get marked read when they shouldn't, in which case I do not get a pop up for them. Eventually I will find the message and respond. But if it gets to be more than a day so feel free to shoot me another message.

Actually I replied to your PM. I need the phone number associated to your DSL line or your Windstream email address so that I can pull up your account. Please send that info to me via the PM's.

Thanks,

I have not received anything to the contrary. Victor, the gentleman we were speaking to, is out with a pretty serious cold. But I see the order still on your account.

As yours was "fixed", my down time has shot up bad from 5-11pm and weekends are out. No more gaming online for me. Glad they finally got to your area. Now if they could just do the other end of our town.

Prodious, send Windstream your info through a PM on here or through the Windstream Direct forum and see if they are working on anything on the other end of town. I thought they would be getting Cameron up and going before heading back towards Columbia but I may be wrong. I haven't been out your way in awhile so I'm not sure if they've been running any new equipment and/or fiber. I'm not familiar with how many units are in your area bro but maybe they can do some rerouting to get you back working. I know there are more people out towards you than there is at my house... maybe not everyone is feeding from one DSLAM.

Aaron, I hope Victor gets better soon! I told the wife to call me whenever the tech shows and I'll get some guidance to him if she isn't sure. But for our small house everything is pretty much straight forward.

Hey Bodybagger, when you get a sec please post a link to this thread and a short description of the issues you have personally experienced with Windstream in my recent thread - "Windstream DSL Investigation: South Carolina."

»Windstream DSL Investigation: South Carolina

Each case and testimony will help out greatly in getting this covered by a local media outlet at which I"m trying to put together as we speak. I really appreciate!

I have just noticed that my Attainable Rate Rate (Kbps): in the statistics of my modem has gone up so something was changed. Cant believe that yours is only 5488 down and 816 up. Going from the word i guess it is what is suppose to be available to get on the line, and a funny about that because i was told that when i upgraded from the lowest dsl speed, and i quote "you can upgrade from 1.5mbps to 12mbps for just $10 more with your plan." I was so excited that was available when i was getting it 2 years ago, but that was my first time talking to someone from wind stream on the phone. Now i know better.

With those stats Prodious you should be atleast 6Mb without an issue... other than the over sold DSLAM you are currently on.

Doc I'll post it on there now. I've tried to get WIS and WLTX notified of this service back when it was totally unusable for ~3 years. Nothing ever became of it and never had any emails back from them. I hope you will have better luck!

Got a call saying that the phones are down in most of St. Matthews and it's causing internet issues as well.
