Some patios I can see and certain entrances as well but that's not where they will stop and nothing but complete bans on everywhere with satisfy their thirst to control smokers. Here in Peterborough our hospital CEO Ken “I don’t give a shit” Tremblay has instituted a complete ban on every square inch of hospital property. In an effort to further make the trek more dangerous, and in a ridiculous assumption people would quit smoking, they strategically installed fencing to coral smokers along entrances that are snowed in and icy in the winter. One entrance is where all the ambulances come flying in at all hours. Brilliant move there Ken. If you are a patient in a wheelchair or with an IV pole then too bad as the Tremblay and his lackeys have decided what is best for you.

I never had but I rarely use bike. I walk half a mile to store instead use bike. voluntarily is the key.

I have no problem with that and think Siberia would be the best place for them. If they don't want to go then quit on their own here with no subsidy. This is why Tim Hortons locations are typically all owned by the same person in any given city/area.

A restaurant that is only a few years old and still not turning a profit would have taken a far harder hit from this than any Tim Hortons anywhere ever would have, and that's exactly what happened in many situations.

Same here. Ban it completely and lose your lower taxes and state supported programs or you just come across as a hypocrite.

I have never smoked and wish it didn't exist but the greater evil is the curtailing of people's freedom incrementally.

And don't fool yourself people there is a long term agenda to curtail more freedom that will eventually spill over to something you do or like guaranteed.

You certainly can. Parks, sidewalks and so on.

Wrong. You can't smoke in public parks here and that includes parking, pathways and sidewalks. Eventually it will encompass all vehicles and homes. Smokers will eventually be relegated to barb wire compounds in the far north or placed in internment camps.

I can't help it if Peterpatch is regressive. As for relegating a disgusting, vile habit to internment camps, fine with me. But there are better ways.

You can thank Niagara Falls for that, they were the first municipality in Ontario to ban smoking on any city property, including parks and any other city-owned land outdoors.
