As far as I know the only Core 2 Quad chips that work in notebooks are the Q9000 and Q9100. However, just because it fits and meets the power requirements doesn't mean it works, it has to be supported by the bios, which unless someone has already tried it, can only be determined if you ask Dell. The fastest processor for the Vostro offered officially is the Core 2 Duo T9550.<br><br>If you truly need the speed you should simply get a new computer, otherwise if it's slow, try adding more ram or an SSD.]]></description>
