 | Laptop turns on & off when it wants Hopefully the correct forum, if not, feel free to move...
Basically, I've a laptop here that not only turns on and off when instructed, but also whenever it wants.
For example, we were watching TV last night and for no apparent reason, the laptop turned on!?
Any ideas what could be causing this? Or is any further info needed?
Just as a quick FYI - It's a factory install with no additional software installed. |

| reply to Black20VT Try this: in Vista/7, go to 'Control Panel - Power Options', and 'Change plan settings - Advanced power settings' for the plan you are using and under Sleep, set 'Allow wake timers' to Disable for plugged in/battery. -- Moe, I need your advice

From a command line (command prompt) you can ask the operating system what the most recent wake trigger was. The query is "powercfg lastwake"
If you are unsure how to interpret the result copy & paste it back here, we can help. |
