Gunni join:2005-12-06 Bethesda, MD | Photos Scrambled on iPad I have an original iPad and a 2009 iMac running OSX 10.8.2 and iTunes 10.7.
I sync my photos choosing Selected albums, Events, Faces and automatically include All Events.
Problem is that the organization of the photos on the iPad bears only a passing resemblance to the order of the photos in iPhoto on the iMac.
When I choose Events on the iPad, the contents of each event are all over the map. I can discern no order whatsoever.
I have tried unchecking Sync Photos from iPhoto in iTunes so that all the photos were removed from my iPad then checked the iTunes box for Sync again, but that failed. The photos on the iPad are again almost random.
Anyone have any suggestions??? |

I'm not sure if this will help or not for a couple of reasons. One is that I don't sync to iTunes and the other is that my comments relate to an iPhone as opposed to an iPad. Even when I was syncing with iTunes have always opted to create Albums on the iPhone. To do that you open up "Photos" and make sure you are looking at the Camera Roll. in the upper right corner is the "Share" button. Clicking that makes the Camera Roll active to edit. You can then click on whichever pics you wish to include in an album and a check mark should appear beside each one. Once you are done making your selections click the "Add To" button at the bottom and choose "Add to New Album" which then prompts you for a name. You can also note the option to "Add to Existing Album". This has always worked without issue for me so hth. |

Gunni join:2005-12-06 Bethesda, MD | Wel, I tried the suggestion and it failed. Specifically:
I began by unchecking the box in iTunes for :Sync Photos from iPhoto: and then did a sync/apply with my iPad connected.
Checked my iPad when it was done and all the photos were gone.
Went back to iTunes, re-checked the box in iTunes for :Sync Photos from iPhoto: and chose the radio button for :Selected Albums, Events, and Faces and automatically include no events:.
Once the sync was done, checked the iPad and in one simple Album, for example, with only 12 photos in it, four of those photos were from another album and four of the photos that should have been in there were gone, apparently randomly placed in some other folder.
This essentially renders useless a large collection of photos on an iPad. You look like an ass when you try to show your photos to someone on your iPad and can't find them. |

Gunni join:2005-12-06 Bethesda, MD | Here's my latest effort: restarted iPhoto holding down the command and option keys and one after the other: rebuilt iPhoto permissions; rebuilt the thumbnails; repaired the database; rebuilt the database.
Still no joy; photo albums synced to the iPad are still completely mixed up. |
