Collaboration Software in Php

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place or not. I'm on a committee that organizes an annual conference that has about 200+ participants. This is a one week long conference with about 6 people on the committee.

In the past, we've been communicating through e-mail, but that gets very confusing quickly.

So I've been asked to look into an option to have an online collaboration tool, in Php/MySQL.

I'm thinking of a message forum, where we can create threads, attach documents, etc.

Any recommendations? Something simple, but that has features such as the ability to upload attachments, notify others of new posts/threads, and that is a clean, minimal design.

Thanks!

I am yet to find a PHP solution for this kinda of things that are actually powerful, flexible and expandable.

So far there are 2 options that get close to "perfection"; those are:
1.- Liferay
2.- Alfresco

They are both Java apps, but they do get the job done. Right now we are running Liferay since its community edition is more complete than alfresco's.

Thanks. FluxBB might be an option.

Thanks. Those look like great options, but too powerful for our needs.
