[TWC] Got new firmware For The SBG6580

17 hours 37 minutes ago, a firmware push was made to my cable modem.

This is the firmware - SBG6580-3.3.1.0-GA-09-058-NOSH

Pay attention to the modem. It cleared my password to access the modem, and it has also taken care of the wireless indicator when it is off.
Not sure about anything else.

Mine is SBG6580-3.5.8.2-GA-00-488-NOSH, so is 3.3.1.0 the newest? Confused.

are you still able to access the modem? I know that in my area we are on firmware version 3.5.8.2 and I can still access the modem.

I can access it, just had to remember my login in and password that I had setup. Removed the default admin and motorola to make it a bit more secure.

I am curious as to why you got 3.3.1.0 just now as all I am seeing is 3.5.8.2 reports. I even created a thread on how it downloaded at 3 in the afternoon on a friday here.

Don't know.
It was 3.5.8.2 prior to this update.

I just looked at the firmware again and noticed that the ability to bring the modem out of Bridged Mode has been removed.

I now no longer have the option of switching from Cable Modem to Cable Modem / Router or back.

The wireless functions are available to me in the bridged mode however. How strange.

The 3 available options are; STATUS, WIRELESS, LOGOUT. Everything under those headings are available to me.

Awhile back my menus were doing weird things. After I did a hard reset(hold red reset button on the back for 45sec) everything went back to normal. I wonder if all the software changes are causing the same issue with yours.

3.5.8.2 on the SBG6580 is the latest but... It's all up to the ISP wheather or not they can use the technology on the later versions
Has to do with the number of Down Stream Bonded Channels"

this makes no sense as the SBG6580 firmware has supported 8 channel bonding from day one now the Ubee gateways had to have a firmware upgrade to allow for more than 4 Downstream channels at once.

@suddenlink.net
Some of the the ISP's network are not set up for 8 Channels Down and 4 Channels up the SBG6580 is capible of doing the job. But ISP's control what networks you will be attach to. Not all networks are equal. IE. Hardware based, Software based, Virtual...Routers, Hubs, Systems, Computers, Servers ... All come in to play when a large carrier such as Comcast, TWC, Suddenlink, Cox ... All of these companies are dealing with ongoing upgrades which may effect sevice provided.

I can also confirm here in (Akron, Ohio) that my firmware is also SBG6580-3.3.1.0-GA-09-058-NOSH.

Before it was 3.5. How strange. Maybe TWC had software issues with 3.5?, so they reverted back possibly?
