Re: [Help] Configuring Google Voice for Verizon Wireless

Google voice will give you the directions. You'll have to dial a number on your phone which sets up your phone to forward calls to your Google Voice box instead of Verizon's box. Then once you launch the Voice app on your device it'll give you instructions on setting up your device to use Voice.

Very rarely for some odd reason you might get a Verizon voicemail icon show up on your device. This means that somehow a call slipped through to Verizon voicemail instead of Google. To remedy follow the directions on Google Voice (online, not the app) to deactivate Voice. You'll basically just dial a number that changes the call forwarding back to Verizon. Then call your Verizon voicemail, delete the message, and follow the directions on Google Voice for activating service again.
