+1 for a soft brush. Auto parts stores or detailing shops sell ones for that purpose that look like a big toothbrush. I've used one of these for years to get at the little crevices in side strips, tail lights, weatherstripping etc.
Another suggestion I just saw is to get a paint brush and cut the bristles down to about half length to stiffen them.
