Doesn't work with my modem. Looks like the app only works with wi-fi connections or WLANs, which I don't have setup in my house.

Exactly what are you looking for? Tweaks for the MODEM or tweaks for the OS?

Possibly tweaks for the modem. Before they slowed down, I was able to consistently get close to or over 1.00 Mbps for down speed. I thought the speed issue may have been related to the modem or OS and have reinstalled both, but I still get the same speed issues with both. I know Millenicom uses Verizon towers for coverage and my mother is a Verizon Wireless user and we both live in the same house. I checked her modem to see if she had similar issues as I did if it was related to the tower, but her speeds are consistently at the speed I have mentioned above meaning I should be able to get similar speeds with this modem.

There are no tweaks for the USB "MODEM". You can add more memory, but this is not going to help.

There are no tweaks for Vista as it is self tuning. There are no tweaks like the older OSs.

It appears that you have a laptop with the wireless adapter and are connecting to a cell tower to access the Internet.

The signal is going to be just like a cell phone. Your mother could be connecting to another tower and she has better reception.

I do not know what deal your ISP has with Version. There might be capacity control in the deal. VZ may be limiting the bandwidth when the tower gets slammed or if your ISP has limits on their end.
