[TWC] Motorola box on a Scientific Atlanta/Cisco system?
A friend of mine is moving from one side of Los Angeles to another. The area he's in now uses Time Warner with a Motorola headend, and he has a DCX3400. The area he's moving to (West San Fernando Valley) is a legacy Time Warner area that uses a Scientific Atlanta/Cisco headend.
The Time Warner techs told them they would be able to transfer their existing Motorola equipment to the new location. Is this accurate, or will they have to get new equipment?
The only way I could see this working is:
1. Given that LA is covered by vast majority Motorola systems, did Time Warner do a Motorola overlay to standardize things?
2. Perhaps the DCX3400 is capable of a Cisco data card that allows it to communicate on Cisco headends?
