In other words, everyone can have "fun with scales" when it comes to graphs.
For example, I see your instrumental record and, raise one that includes the Roman Warm Period and Medieval Warm Period. From Esper et. al 2012. These would be two historically warm times with little to no industrial CO2 in the mix.
That said, before 1850 we really don't know what the temperature was and rely on "proxy" data for the most part. And there's some question as to whether even the instrumental thermometer record is in any way reliable. From thermometers placed on Tarmacs, to (undocumented) "adjustments" made, the only records I'd trust well enough would be from satellites. And clearly they don't go back that far.
