 | sabnzbd/astraweb/fios slow speeds not sure where the problem is, i just signed up for astraweb. the speedtest i just ran hit 75 mbps, but downloads only hit 1.4 mp/s. i thought it would be closer to 10. is there anything i can check to see the problem? |
|
 | go to /config/general/ in sabnzbd, and try a bigger cache limit. Mine is set at 512M and i can saturate my 60mbit connection. but i don't have astraweb as a provider. |

At the main screen, make sure you don't have a value set for the speed throttle. -- A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -MLK |

 | reply to jbaruch76 thanks for the suggestions, but still sitting at 1.4. not sure what else it is. here are my server settings us.news.astraweb.com port 119 20 connections |

1 edit | reply to jbaruch76 i've also tried all the different combinations of astraweb's servers and ports i also am unable to access sabnzbd from anywhere but the localhost
all other services (sick beard, couch potato, etc) i have no problem accessing remotely |
|
 | Plug your computer directly into the modem and see if you get the same results. |
|
 | verizon fios uses a modem/router, so it already is. but like i said. i have a number of other services that run through my network/firewall no problem. |
|
 | You are using the router though right with DHCP enabled? I have a modem/router (Time Warner) combo and the router is horrible. Can you put the modem in bridge mode and try it like that? Just trying to eliminate the router as an issue here since you have trouble accessing Sabnzbd remotely or so it seems from your post. |

| I've got a FiOS router that's pretty old and generally I have no issues maxing out my 25mb connection sabnzbd...

 | can you tell me what port/server you are using? |

I get just about 3MB/s when I don't throttle it. -- ♬ Music is life ♬ |

| reply to jbaruch76 When I was last using FIOS my download speeds were consistent over nttp.. but I would experience a drop out of downloads from places like microsoft.. (aka I couldn't complete downloads of 1 Gb files etc.) in that case I found out that updating my nic drivers.. fixed that.. not saying this is your case.. but maybe consider it?
You should also remember to try the port 80 trick too |

 | port 80 trick? |
|
 | reply to jbaruch76 Try putting your connection outside the DMZ. Check the QOS settings within Verzion router. Also check the priority of data transfer on the router. |
|
 | reply to jbaruch76 you can also try using a different provider - Newshosting for example has no trouble for maxing out a 100 megabit connection. If you are getting near 75 megabit speeds from other web sites, for example a speakeasy speedtest, then the problem is likely the provider... |
|
 | I have Newshosting it is slow. |
