How can you decide to buy one when it has not been announced, no specs, anything?

Based off estimates. If you don't want to decide until it is announced more power to you. That is your chose and I respect it.

Based on the rumors, yes, but only to keep the wife off of my iPad.

I understand, but the estimates and leaks keep changing...camera, no camera. Retina screen, no retina screen.

I was thinking of it on back burner for travel. This does not mean i need to run out and obtain such right away it can wait until i get around to it.

You should have a third choice, "don't know yet". That'd be my answer. I don't know enough about the device to know whether I'd buy one.

I was going to wait for the next "new iPad", but this is too tempting.

They haven't changed much in like the last month. Everything up to a few weeks ago points to it having a camera and no retina screen.

But of course, nothing set in stone with Apple. Can't wait for an actual announcement. Hope it's like 300 dollars for 16gb.

When?
Now... no, I have a 3rd Gen. iPad
In a few years?...possibly.

If the soon to be announced 7" (???) views and functions as well as the larger one but costs 40% (???) less, sure, at the end of my current iPad's life I'd consider replacing it with a mini.
Too many variables to assess, so I didn't answer the poll, but I think the mini can (and probably will) cannibalize the sales of full size model.

I said no because personally I like the "letter paper size" form factor of my iPad 3rd gen. I'd see a mini iPad as a step backwards for my uses (including remote access to PC's)

I might depending on the price and capacity but just as a toy; don't really need it with an iPad and two Android tablets.

I have an Android smartphone and two laptops (Mac Air and Vaio S); I don't know what I would to with another device other than waste money on it.

Personally I would like an iPad Maxi, but my original iPad and new iPad work fine for now. I don't see any point in the mini unless it's for a kid's toy.

I still think the Kindle Fire will hold a nice chuck of market share when/if the ipad "mini" comes out.

I currently have an iPad 3rd. Gen, and also a Nexus 7. I have no use for the iPad mini, I do like the smaller form factor though. I find myself bringing my Nexus 7 everywhere I go, and using it much more than my iPad.

Can't you just Bridge the iPad to your iPhone and share the Internet connection?

MVM,

AT&T doesn't include mobile hotspot with the plan. You need to "upgrade" to a capped plan AND pay extra, or use their mobile share plans.

No, but I am impatiently waiting for an updated 27" iMac. I don't even care about a retina display, just put a better processor and graphics card in the thing.

Or jailbreak it...or does AT&T still crack down on unauthorized mobile hotspot usage?
