Re: [Race to 90] DSLR Guild (Mal'ganus) hits level 10!

I think monks are a pretty good class, period. I think video game companies are learning from experience that players want overpowered classes to get addicted to and then they can iron out the balancing at a later level.

Right now, monks are ridiculous in PVP. I only have experience with the healing monks, but I'm able to keep a player alive with an entire team beating on him.

I can keep 3 HoT's rolling on a player while having an instant cast heal that heals the player for their entire health bar and a shield that shields the player for about 130% of their health as well.

It is extremely rare that anyone has died in my time in BGs while healing.

It isn't that they are over powered Archy. It is that well.... You are Archivis, the almighty! Now, let's go pwn face, shall we?

I've been loving my Brewmaster a lot, love throwing beer at people's faces. The sad part is that expansion is so rough on alts that is hard for me to keep up. Between the damn dailies and the horrible gearing up process I have very little time to level anything else. That is why we just did a leveling marathon on sunday and raised a ton of levels, once we hit outlands we should we good to go.

You are correct my friend. I see myself focusing more on a Main this Xpac. With my move to hawaii approaching, I want to get to 90 and have most of the things lined up so when I arrive on the island I am good to go.

I got to 47, and was leveling up the proffs so they can keep leveling as we go too. With my surgery tomorrow, I'll probably just be on during the next few days doing BGs or something less noticable when I don't do much but hit a few keys

KrisN also mentioned about the professions and what we have.

I know I can do the following and have them maxxed by this weekend (thank you DMF) if I can learn to use the mouse with my left hand.

Tailoring
Enchanting
Alchy
Leatherworking
Herbalism (Maybe)
Skinning (Maybe)
Archy (Maybe)
Cooking (Maybe)

I'll have to review what I have. I know I have enchanting/alchy on the warlock, enchanting/tailoring on the priest, mining/something (herb I think) on the pally, and engie/JC (not maxed) on the DK. All four chars are 85.

My druid is LW/skinning and he's 73, so it wouldn't be hard to power him to 90 if needed.

I don't have anyone with Inscription, just a 70 alliance shaman.

If you want to do the leg work of assigning 2 professions to each person, it will allow us to focus our gold and effort on just two professions. You shouldn't have to handle four.

Only offering because I'm OCD and I have the next few days off to do it.

Arch sucks with JC so if you can do Mining/JC, seems like that's the easiet ones to level up.

If you feel like getting Engineer up too on the DK, that will do 3 of them. If you end up herbing while doing the mining, cod me the herbs to help me get alchy up.

Alright, so maybe I take my pally to 90 first, and send all the ore to my DK and all the herbs to your alchemist (which)? Then I get the DK high enough to max JC and possibly Engie after that.

Are the 85-90 zones in panda land? I haven't been following anything about this expac.

Having the Darkmoon Faire this week makes its all that much better. Get up to the last 5 points and then do the quest. Ta da.

Antonica has LW/Alchy.
Tanarnia is Enchanting/Tailor
Bretna is my Herb/Skinner.

Yeah 85-90 is Pandaland. And if you do the starting area, the respawn rate on all herbs/mines/mobs/etc is obscene still. I got to 560 herb/skinning without even trying.

The starting area has 500-level nodes? Even if the baby pandas are all levels 1-10??

I think that is because they are on the Panda Continent. I was able to find Herbs/Ore at lower levels though when I started.

The starting area is not panda land. It's separate from everything.

Pandaria (I think is the official name) is another continent. Like Northrend was for LK. If you go to the map in the game, and go out to see the continents, you'll see Kalimador, Northrend, Eastern Kingdoms, and Pandaria (which is 85-90).

Forgive me for spelling, purely going off of memory and I don't pay that much attention to the names.

Is the area you go to pick up the daily XP boost quest part of the new Pandaria or starter zone? I may have gotten those mixed up.

The daily XP boost is in the Pandarian continent, you can even see the gatherer nodes for snow lily in the map, but you can only go to that place via monk portal, I think..

Yeah, the XP boost quest takes you to Pandaria Cont., but only one small section of one zone. If you try and venture out, it'll teleport you back to the temple. You can't access the rest of Pandaria as a low level.

Scribe epics take Scrolls of Wisdom.

Scrolls of Wisdom can be made in two ways:
-cheap, daily CD that doubles as glyph research
-turning in paintings, which require Spirits of Harmony

Each Darkmoon card requires one scroll
The BOA staff requires 20 (and I think 9 spirits total?)
The fan requires ... some number of scrolls.
