[TWC] Anyone having DNS issues?
Anyone else having DNS resolving issues? I was working fine then couldn't get to any pages I tried pinging by FQDN and couldn't be found but pinging via IP was fine. I changed to Google's IP addresses and everything is good now.
DNS 1: 209.18.47.61 DNS 2: 209.18.47.62 -- That was the wild boar.... Moo! My podcast: The Banzai Beat »www.banzaibeat.com
Awful, awful AWFUL here in SoCal. 2 times out of 6 DNS will fail when browsing. And being locked to RR DNS does not help (not configurable in the SBG6580). Multiple calls all result in same "reboot your modem" song and dance. Downstream power levels and noise right down the middle, so it's not a connection issue. At least when I had my initial problems, I knew it was related to this crappy Moto.
reply to Chiyo Why not use a static IP and set the dns servers in your networking panel. I would never say that you are locked into using your ISP's dns servers. BTW I have that very same "Crappy" motorola modem/router and I use my own DNS servers, not TWC's, and everything works fine.
Edit: I hit the wrong reply button. this one belongs to someone else other then the OP.
reply to Chiyo We are noticing issues connecting to our Terminal Servers from most of our users that use Road Runner/Time Warner. It works sporadically. Users with other connectivity work fine.
