Re: Backpack Leaf Blower Suggestions, Pleasesaid by herdfan:I am all Stihl, all of the time. They just make the best stuff. Also some of the most expensive, but to me it's worth it. Stihl all the way here too. All of my stuff is from the commercial/professional line so I can't make a call on the consumer-grade product line. Edit to add: Of the choices linked, the Stihl would be my choice....no doubt about it. |

Interesting. How do you tell the difference? Both the Stihl and the Echo have 2 year commercial warranties. But the Echo goes further with a 5 year consumer whereas the Stihl only carries a 2 year consumer. In addition, the Stihl blowers only have a 60 day warranty for rental where the Echo provides 90 days. Call it what you want, the Echo is every bit as professional as Stihl and the warranties are as good or much better. |

My post was making reference to the Stihl product line (pro vs. consumer) which is why, no where in my original post was the word "Echo" mentioned. |

Once again, you haven't stated how you can state that Echo is not Pro. The Pro shop here recommends them over Stihl. |

Given the fact I did not say ANYTHING about Echo, will you please explain how you drew the conclusion that I said Echo is not a professional product? I said that my stuff is from the Stihl professional line rather than the Stihl consumer line and thus, can't comment on their consumer product line. I've have a 40-year track record with Stihl and based my recommendation on that record. I don't own Echo products and didn't make a comment about them. |

My mistake -- I took your statement as Stihl was commercial/professional and Echo consumer-grade. As the Stihl linked to as well as the Echo are both commercial/professional grade machines I guess I don't understand the point you were trying to make regarding consumer grade. |

The point about consumer vs. professional was in response to the post to which I originally replied where it was stated that Stihl is simply the best. It's very doubtful that a Stihl consumer grade product is comparable to an Echo professional model. What's strange is the fact Echo pro appears to be distributed through Home Depot. My local Echo dealer, who is also a Honda generator dealer, claims the professional line is only available through authorized Echo dealers and not big-box outlets. |

Your reply might have more impact if you direct it toward herdfan . Hint: second reply for the top. Had you read more closely rather than being so ready to condemn, you would have noticed it wasn't me who stated the offending comment(s) about Stihl, Echo, Husky or for that matter, anything else. |
