verizon fios uses a modem/router, so it already is.
but like i said. i have a number of other services that run through my network/firewall no problem.

You are using the router though right with DHCP enabled? I have a modem/router (Time Warner) combo and the router is horrible. Can you put the modem in bridge mode and try it like that? Just trying to eliminate the router as an issue here since you have trouble accessing Sabnzbd remotely or so it seems from your post.

I've got a FiOS router that's pretty old and generally I have no issues maxing out my 25mb connection sabnzbd...

(bridging a FiOS router can be non-trivial, especially if you have the TV service).
