Digital Imaging and Photography → [Tech] Flash for Fujifilm HS25EXR

Looking online, if you want a flash that will communicate with the camera, there doesn't seem to be much available other than the factory models (EF-20, EF-X20 and EF-42).

Just curious whether anyone here has found something (other than the factory models) that will work.

Depressing that Costco carries the camera, but no accessories. If they sold the flash, the price would probably be significantly lower than what the camera stores want.

Update- after not finding much else to be available, I bought the EF-42 from Best Buy (their online price [with in-store pickup] seems comparable to other places).

When the flash is mounted on the camera, the flash makes various clicking sounds as the camera zoom is adjusted- I assume this is to internally set the flash optics to match the camera lens. Pretty sophisticated!
