The best thing to do would be - nothing. I change out services a lot. The power is out 8-10 hours. Never had a refrigerator or freezer issue other than this: The ice in the ice maker will sometimes clump up. Empty the ice maker bin if you are real worried about it. Relax. It's not going to be that bad. Just don't open the refrigerator unnecessarily. -- If someone refers to herself / himself as a "guru", they probably aren't.
