Perhaps you could put a circle around what you want us to see, I am not sure what to look for. |

Hard to tell at this distance. Could be a wasps nest.
Edit: Thought you were referring to the beige blob at the top. I have no idea about the darker green leaves. |

It's made from leaves. It's the only thing that looks like that. Here's the original. |

It could be a Village Weaver nest but.....since there is only one nest, that may not be it. » earthonthewing.blogspot. ··· ers.htmlRalph. |

Looks like mistletoe to me. Around here, it's very common in sycamore trees. |

I circled what I think you want us to see. How big is it? You have managed to arouse my curiosity. |

Glad you don't think it's something else today, given that you said it was mistletoe yesterday. |

said by SueS:I circled what I think you want us to see. How big is it? You have managed to arouse my curiosity. Yes. That is the area I am asking about. It's about 3' x 4'. And it definitely is the only one around my line of sight and is not the same kind of leaf as on other plants in the area. It could be mistletoe, I suppose. I didn't know that that grew in Northern Arizona. I just checked, and it does grow in Northern Arizona although it is a specific kind, Dwarf Mistletoe. Below is an image found in my search. It really looks familiar. Thank you for even suggesting that. I had no idea where to look for what it might be. And I missed a huge kissing fest under it, too! |

It is as close to mistletoe as is common here. Basically mistletoe but not what most would think of as back east Christmas mistletoe. Basically a parasite on the tree. If I remember some John Wayne movie had the female lead calling prickly pear a desert rose. Plus still may count as a true mistletoe. » www.fs.fed.us/r3/resourc ··· ue.shtml |

Once Mistletoe was suggested, I did some searching, and it is indeed Mistletoe. It's not uncommon in Northern AZ and in particular, the Flagstaff are. » nau.edu/CEFNS/Forestry/F ··· thiasen/ |
