Ok, so why am I not getting it? I believe you all ARE getting it.

When I click the update button (restart to update), Firefox closes, then reopens back to DSLR, with me appearing to be logged out, but when I try to login, it tells me I am still logged IN, lol....then I have to click my logout button and login again. ugh....

Anyway, getting nothing via the internal updater. Wonder if it's even working right.

Got the update via internal update. It seems they didn't change the user agent string. It shows 16.0 in about: and about:support

Why would that be siljaline See Profile? I've never had a problem with downloads from Major Geeks or File Hippo.

Because third-party sites like that post release first because they use builds off the ftp server which are not fully vetted and are not "release builds"..So, from time to time, users got builds that were not finished, withdrawn by Mozilla for fixes, and even, (as read in mozillazine forum), unsigned builds.

And starting from 16.0 release, checking for updates, downloaded the (full, which I wasn't expecting) .mar, & updated to 16.0.1 & again it shows that way.

So if you're still showing 16.0...?

useragent

It did update to 16.0.1. In the about:support page, on the line that says user agent, it shows 16.0 at the end. So the browser id's itself as 16.0 to web servers.

Got it in updated Mac OS X 10.7.5 and Windows XP Pro. SP3 through Firefox v16.0.0's internal updaters. Is it me or did it give the whole installers (Mac OS X's 32 MB and Windows' 22 MB!)?

Good question, Pentangle See Profile
It's a matter of choice. For software as important as my secondary Browser, the last place I would go as a primary source would not be Major Greeks nor File Hippo but that's just me.

Links have been posted, you should be able to fetch it via the infernal updater but not File Hippo nor Major Greeks, the latter especially.

Re: Mozilla Firefox 16.0.1 Final

I used to post the MVPS Hosts to Major Greeks discusion board. It was constantly deleted, why ?

Sites like Major Greeks are a cash cow for third party ads - bar none !!

As I said already, important software like a Browser should be downloaded at source and nowhere else.

I did not ask you why so no reason to repeat yourself..I also don't click on all your links when you post masses ones in a single post..but that's just me..now seems your response to chachazz went bye bye... Bad day in Black Rock Buddie.

Update: maybe they are fans of HP hosts thingie.
