Re: [DTA] Music Choice coming to DTA's

From a recent post in the Comcast Help and Support Forum (»forums.comcast.com/t5/XfinityTV-···5#M56991 ), it seems like Comcast has started allowing DTAs to receive the Music Choice channels in some other areas:

If your local Comcast office properly installs the correct firmware, your DTA should pick up all of the Digital Starter video channels on your local lineup. It will display in standard-definition 480i output, the current DTAs do not support high definition.

The DTA will NOT tune Digital Preferred channels, Premium channels, Pay-Per-View, or Video On Demand.

In my local market, the DTA firmware apparently has been updated to allow use of the Music Choice channels (901 and up) as well as the FM radio stations.

In my local market (Greater Seattle area), the DTA tunes channels 2 through 99, plus about 26 channels above channel 99 that are part of Digital Starter (101, 112, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 128, 136, 149, 150, 162, 183, 234, 271, 275, 276, 430, 482, 500, 504, 732, 736, 748 and 825).

Your mileage may vary.

My DTA did get a firmware update a few weeks ago. The only obvious change was support for 4-digit channels and some slight changes to some of the diagnostic pages. Also, one HD channel accidentally in the map no longer works (it did work before, but obviously downconverted to SD.)
