Privacy impact assessment on data retention released

Finally, some detail on data retention! A privacy impact assessment relating to the proposed reforms to the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 has been released, which sheds light on Attorney-General Nicola Roxons plans to establish an online surveillance regime.
The document was prepared and handed over to the Attorney Generals Department in December last year. And the government didnt volunteer publication of the assessment its only after a successful freedom of information request that the report has seen the light of day.
