kudos:4 | [FireFox] Google search problem Why do I get this sometimes especially after midnight? I type in a couple of characters in the search box on Google main site and up pops a download box for some strange file. I click cancel and try to finish typing my search term but the box appears again after just a couple of added characters in the search field. It also says Google suggest is not available. Ok. But why does it not being available give me that download box? I can't use Google at all now because this happens each time I try to search. Eventually, I will be able to use Google again for searching.
I don't understand what causes this or why it eventually stops and I can again use Google. This only happens on Fx. I do have Google Sharing on Fx 4 and Fx 10 ESR. But what would the odd download box I get have to do with Google Sharing? I don't think they are connected.

Thank you for that link. It was interesting but the speculation there that it caused by an older versions of Fx not knowing how to handle instant search as it happens also almost every night late at night and early morning hours. ONLY during those hours and happens on Fx 10 ESR which is not an old version like my Fx 4 might be considered to be.

Why do you say this? Google gives me a warning that Google Instant search is not available, so, I think it is probably Google causing the problem. Plus, I don't think any extension I have would cause a problem only during certain hours.
