[HN9000] Feedhorn cover question

Click for full size
Click for full size
Hi,

I have a new 0.74m Raven Ka band satellite with a HN9200 modem. The feedhorn cover came to me with 3 marks on it . It isn't cracked, but they are whiter than the rest of the cover. I have a decent signal at 88-89, but does anyone think this effects my signal strength? If so, know where I can get another cover? Thanks

You're good, but keep an eye on them. An intact feedhorn cover keeps dust/dirt/moisture and critters out. If the cover becomes compromised, the feedhorn should be replaced. Short of that, use some RF-transparent tape (non-metallic). Your comm guys may have some Mylar or J-Lar you can use.
