I am back online but I am still MAC locked. I reset the modem, etc... DHCP doesn't work with other MAC addresses.

Also, I'm still being allocated a 198.84.x.x IP address. Is this a typical Teksavvy IP, or should I be getting something from the 24.x.x.x range?

I just got report of a customer who is not only back online, but online properly WITH a 198.x IP!!

Hopefully things are looking up now.

BritanniaTec, with your signal levels being out we need to wait for the scheduled tech visit to resolve you issue. With that being said if the outage is clearing then you should not have any further issues after that appointment

Hi Kanata000,

I see you've already got a thread going on the direct forum. We'll continue troubleshooting the mac lock there so we're not hijacking this thread.

Hi guys,

We are working on Resolving Ottawa Issues. THank you for your patience.

As for Toronto, there are a few people that have mentioned that they are starting to get DHCP issues. If you are, can you please try power cycling and if the issue persists, please post your IP and account info in the »/fo ··· avdirect forum.

Please label your subject as "Toronto DHCP".

Thanks,

Yes back online this afternoon shortly after my above post. No power cycling required as I just hear a ding signaling incoming iMessage on iPad.

Yeah, I noticed that too: My Telus phone can access this forum, but not the Direct forum. Weird. To get around it, I first connect my phone to a VPN, and then the Direct forum becomes accessible again through the VPN.

I wonder why Telus blocks the Direct forum?

So.. are the 198.* IP addresses actually valid TSI addresses now? Useful info to know, that. Please confirm.

Thanks.

I didn't notice any problems yesterday but today I noticed all my pings are 800ms+ and I came here to investigate. Is this city wide? Central Ottawa

Re: Terrible Ping

Ottawa issues are not speed/ping related. It is instead an issue with being unable to surf due to IP not routing.

If you are having issues with speeds/ping times and have not already contacted us please post in the direct forum: »/forum ··· avdirect so we can look into this for you

Re: Current Outage Report/Update for 10/16

I'm still down. I've powered cycled a couple of times now and I'm still not picking up an IP address. I'm in Ottawa on the St. Laurent POI. For me though, it all only started last night. I guess my DHCP lease expired.

[I have opened a ticket up in the TekDirect forum].

Where are you located in Ottawa ... both West half POIs are on Richmond Rd!

If you're in West Ottawa, it's always a good idea to indicate your neighbourhood location to avoid this confusion. If you know you're on Rogers Richmond Rd. head end in Westboro please append Westboro to a reference to Richmond Rd.

If you know you're on Richmond Rd Fallowfield, call it that!

Then nobody has to write these questions

Cheers!

Okay, but if I was on the fallowfield poi, I'd write just that, no? I didn't say road...

Anyways, issue is now resolved, it came back around 11am. I apologize for not updating post.

but to TekSavvy, Fallowfield is also known as Richmond Rd. (with a high street number)

Fallowfield is close to the village of Richmond just to confuse things further!

Definitely confusing.
I also received the new 198.* address as well, and back to a 7 day lease (was 30 minutes for awhile there)

Finally Ottawa Richmond Rd seems to be ironing out all the network problems. Small outage between 3am and 5am Monday night but that has been all I've seen the last two weeks. For 6 months internet has been very unreliable on this POI.

Peak DL is significantly faster.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I can quit grumbling.

But time for the bad news. The Rogers building in Westboro where the POI is(was?) located is being torn down to build condos.
