I have seen this issue many times. Changing the DNS servers has worked every time so far. I have used both Google DNS and Open DNS. Also, I have heard of ATT providing alternate DNS servers with success.

Thank you, Kitsune. I used OpenDNS for years, but forgot about entering them on my new Time Capsule I got July 2011. That was around the same time Lion came out.

Both my sister and I wondered what was up with Lion Mail taking 20 seconds before it would send an email (yet few others complained of this) It actually was not Lion Mail in this case, but the simultaneous switch to my new router (and no more OpenDNS) that caused the hiccups.

I switched things over to the OpenDNS servers and now everything works. And, sent mail gets sent instantly.

I just love how at&t's DNS servers are at match with their own email provider.

But, this also makes me ask the question why the PCs still work when the Macs won't. Oh, well.
