Away 2 weeks, 99 Honda Will not Start

Tank is full, got a new battery. It chugs for a few seconds. I dont want to kill my starter motor so I gave it a rest. Carb spray? No indication of issues before I left. Hood pull switch inside the car also came off :-

Tried that, and I also tried with a battery charger with car start feature but I got a new battery entirely.

Is the fuel pump in the tank? If so, can you hear it prime when you turn the key on?

Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

Maybe you flooded it? Hold the gas pedal all the way down for 2 minutes or so. Then release and start it normally. Let it crank for a while (20 or 30 seconds) if necessary.

Didn't know you could flood a fuel injected car.......

First off.. Like Juggernaut said - Check to see if fuel pump is running. Listen under the car while you have someone cycle the key on and off (wait 10-15 secs between cycles to give the PCM a chance to reset the fuel pump command).

After thought: check to see if you have a fuel pump reset switch, as well. My old '92 Taurus had one in the trunk.

Just thinking out loud here.

Actually, it was possible with my 1997 Accord. If you started the engine when cold (running at a high idle), then shut it off after 30 seconds, it wouldn't restart. Holding the gas pedal down for a while helped.

Timing belt jumped and now it's out of time.

Same thing happened with my 89 Civic. I tried to get it running for about a month before I had it towed to the shop and they started it right and wanted to know what the issue was - I told them and they checked the oil and found a good bit of gas in the oil. Switched out the oil and it worked fine.

They decided that I started the car in specific weather and quickly shut it off (I had in fact moved the car from the garage to the driveway). It sat and the weather changed but the computer still had the settings for the last time it shut down and flooded the engine.

Yup. That's when I had trouble restarting.
