Re: [TWC] need help troubleshooting connection The "SNR" reported by your modem is a calculated estimate based upon the ratio of good packets to correctable packets.
If the "SNR" is good, and 40 + is wonderful, then the number of uncorrectable packets is of no concern, as in zero, nada, zip, etc. |

One of the problems in understanding this area of arcane modem behavior is that Broadcom and TI are very closemouthed about what time periods/number of packets they average over, etc. I have only found one very brief reference in a Cisco manual, and that referred to upstream measurements where the same technique is used. |
