Well aware of why most people feel the need to force their IP address to change.

Another reason is a persons ISP has written them a letter to stop file sharing!

As far as I'm concerned, those are the ONLY reasons for wanting to do that!

ISP will have history of IPs you ever owned. Once you received the letter, it is on your account history, not necessary tied to your IP address. Changing your IP address will have zero effect to that.

You and I know that, but most people freaking out over a letter from their ISP think it helps to force an IP change.
